We present in this article the new version of the tourist map of Tulcea Municipality!
It should be said that the entire process by which it took shape was a team effort from which we only benefited. The first version was launched in 2024 by OMD Tulcea Municipality, including a short public consultation. Many good ideas emerged from that, but the biggest gain was that we had the chance to meet Leonard Pandrea, a true professional in the field.
Leonard then sent us a long message in which he introduced himself and gave detailed feedback. He has been working for many years on maps and guides for Michelin and, fortunately for us, he was willing to help with a new version of the Tulcea map, made to international standards. We immediately accepted his proposal and got to work together!
The new version of the map follows all cartographic rules and, most importantly, is designed with the tourist in mind. In addition, the OMD's mission is to encourage visitors to spend more time in the city, urging them to explore the municipality with patience and interest. We thus created a detailed mapping of all the relevant places in the city and laid out two walking tourist routes to make visits easier.
In April 2025, the map was printed in a run of 5,000 copies and distributed free of charge to the city's accommodation units, restaurants, museums and leisure providers, reaching tourists through them. And for the 2026 season we have prepared an initial batch of 4,000 copies.
Daytrips from Tulcea to the Danube Delta
Danube Map
The Danube River is an important axis of communications and transport, an access corridor to the center of the old continent, which flows smoothly and gently caresses numerous cities and particularly beautiful places. For us, the people of Tulcea, the river is truly part of the city's DNA and our daily lives. And because the Danube represents an important chapter in the history of Tulcea, Romania, and Europe, we thought of creating this map with the main cities it passes through, from its source to its estuary in the Black Sea. You will find it in large format, on an information panel located in Delta Park.
